As much as it pains me to say it, I haven't been up to much in the kitchen lately. It has been too darn hot and I've basically just been relying on my good ol' stand-by dishes. Or grabbing dinner out with friends. And let's not forget about all of those summer BBQs.
And while that is super fun and always enjoyable, it is hard as hell for me to make healthier choices when out for dinner or at a barbecue, try as I might. Does anyone have any willpower that they'd like to lend me? ;)
So then, it is definitely a good thing that I at least stay active. I've been trying to fit more runs into my week, since I'm prepping for the Spartan Sprint in a couple of weeks. While it doesn't sound like it'll be as exciting as the zombie 5k, it should be a good time! :)
Other than that, its been Crossfit as usual. I'm addicted, I tells ya! #proof
Okay, since you didn't come here to check out my sweaty laundry, I'll tell ya what else I'm addicted to. WIAW, of course!
Breakfast: Egg whites; whole wheat English muffin w/ PB & chia seed jam; raspberries
I made the chia jam the day before using both strawberries and raspberries. A squirt of honey and a big scoop of chia seeds finished up the mixture...to delicious results! (A huge thank you to FitPossible for this super simple recipe!)
Snack: Trader Joe's Apricot dried fruit bar
Lunch: Salt & pepper steak; grilled zucchini; salad (unpictured)
So simple but a fantastic lunch. Gotta love the grill - easiest clean up ever!

Lack of an afternoon snack led me to hoover up dinner so, I didn't snag a picture. Ah well, hunger > blog sometimes, ya know?
