WIAW #22

Happy Wednesday! Happy Hump Day! Happy What I Ate Wednesday!

[Box] Jumping right into things this week with a quickie fitness recap! I've had some great Crossfit WODs over the past week. Tuesday morning's was particularly interesting: 

Run 1 mile
Then, immediately afterwards, 
5 rounds...
10 kettlebell swings [ I used 40# ]
20 double unders [ I did 60 singles, since I can't freakin' get DUs yet >:( ]

Ran the mile in 9:18 / finished the entire WOD in 17:42 (I think that was my time anyway. It was 17:something.)

It was pretty tough at the time but I recovered rather quickly, which was awesome. My immediate recovery time has really improved over the past few months. When I first started working out, I'd be in rough shape for the next 10-15 minutes.

Aside from Crossfit, I went canoeing on Saco River over the weekend. Well, most of the time, we had all 21 canoes bungeed up and just floating along...but Sunday afternoon, I did some paddlin' for 15 minutes or so. Soooo, I'll count it lol. ;)

And today, I'm gonna be doing plenty of walking while at Canobie Lake Park! Hey, cardio is cardio...whatever. For any doubters, I am going to Crossfit beforehand with my babe, so not to worry. ;)

Okay, onto the noms!

Breakfast: Whole wheat English muffin; egg whites; slice of cheese; slice of thick cut roast beef

Yummy, I love egg sandwiches. I haven't had one in awhile since I've been dabbling with eating Paleo. (Grains and dairy are both no-no's.) Anyways, this totally hit the spot.

Lunch: Salad w/ grilled chicken, cukes, & strawberries

Stole a page outta my babe's book and threw some strawbs into my salad. :)

Snack: Special K Dark Chocolate Granola Bar

Dinner: Whole wheat spaghetti w/ sauce; grilled chicken; salad

My babe made us dinner tonight. And it was delicious, as always. He's the bestest - thanks babe! :D

  1. Great job on the workouts! I love egg sandwiches too, but of course, being a veggie, I would leave off the roast beef! ;-)

  2. MMM. Sounds and looks like a great eating day. Also, roast beef instead of ham on an egg sammy? I'm going to have to try that out as my hubs can't eat pork.

    1. It surprised me at how well it went together! I used a thick cut piece, which I would recommend over skinnier slices. Hope he enjoys it :)

  3. So far every wiaw post I've been reading is talking about cross fit! I really need to check it out. :)

    1. It certainly gets addicting...but what a great addiction to have! So much fun :) Let me know if you give it a go and what you thought of it!

    1. My mom found them on Etsy - seller's name is foldedpigs. She has some of the coolest stuff on her site - we also have the bones and skull & crossbones plates :)
