Summer just seems to be crammed with events. I have something going on pretty much every weekend until September. :O Unfortunately, that means my poor lil blog suffers since I already stink at posting regular updates. Nevertheless, I am here with some eats for What I Ate Wednesday!
This month, Ms. Jenn introduced a new fun theme than incorporates eating well with fitness. So, be sure to get moving!
As for me, I CrossFit 4 to 5 times a week. Yep, I'm one of those people "drinking the Kool-Aid." ;)
I'd been going to the gym for about a year before I started CrossFit in February...and I was quickly hooked. I have gotten so much stronger and fitter in these few short months than I did the entire year I spent working out in the gym!
ter breakfast, we went for a hike at Borderland State Park. Afterwards, we were pretty hungry (of course), so we ate very well at lunch. My babe is a grillin' master so he handled making the steak! ;)
Dinner: Spicy Tuna & Philly rolls...
Hot n sour soup; chicken fingers; beef satay; pork fried rice...
aaaand tempura ice cream.

Breakfast: Paleo pancakes; egg whites
My babe and I have been dabbling a bit with eating paleo, so I made these pancakes from Carrots 'N' Cake. They are really good, especially topped with more almond butter! I love the TJs Almond Butter w/ Roasted Flax Seeds.
Lunch: Steak; Alexia sweet potato waffle fries; salad

In other words, A FEAST! We went to a new sushi place that just opened up - Asian Ginger. Excellent food!
Treat time: Neapolitan ice cream w/ lotsa toppings
Yes, I somehow talked him into more ice cream. Taking advantage of the fact that it is summer!!!
Warning: shameless self-promotion about to take place. A couple of new posts that may be of interest...
I love big sushi dinners! Yum!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yummy and very fun :)
DeleteMmm, that sushi sounds so good. As does the ice cream!! I didn't know you were a cross-fitter. I still haven't tried it (running is my love) but I know it would help make me stronger.
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I just started Crossfit in February and can already lift so much more than I ever thought possible - definitely a great strengthener! There is a bunch of workouts on the Crossfit website, so you could always use those at the gym on your own.
DeleteI'm opposite from you - I gotta work on my running :)
Your eats look amazing! I've never seen tempura ice cream before, interesting. I love putting lots of toppings on my ice cream/froyo! It's the only way to eat it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is sometimes also called deep fried ice cream - and absolutely agree with you on the toppings ;)
DeleteI love everything you ate - I can't get over how fantastic those paleo pancakes look :)
ReplyDeleteThey were excellent - I highly recommend them!!
